This exhibit considers the relationship
between the human and the natural worlds. It explores the many ways artists are thinking about, and responding to, nature, from close observation to narrative and metaphor, from work that looks at the threats of climate change and mass extinction to art that is personal and intimate. Our goal is to showcase a wide range of ideas, media, and emotions, serving to evoke the complex and layered connections between us and our world.

"Painting"
An Online Exhibit
June 15 - July 31
Curated by Lavaughan Jenkins
"Painting" features the work of six female artists who are redefining the parameters of this historical practice, either through applying a painterly approach to new materials or by using paint in innovative ways.
"Over many years I have had the privilege of watching these artists say things with non-traditional materials like glitter, tape, plastics, beads, yarn, paper, printers, scanners, etc., that they couldn’t say any other way. It’s truly amazing to watch these artists push through established rules, communicating an experience of paint beyond the traditional vocabulary of painting. These artists have inspired me to imagine new possibilities, especially when I began painting again, and I continue to look at them for inspiration and motivation. "
